Learn how to create marbled patterns in copper plate etching in this playful one day workshop. Students will be guided through the basics of copper plate etching including asphaltum block out techniques for creating their own marbled designs, applying a rosin aquatint, and etching the plate. During the second half of the workshop, students will focus on inking and printing their images by hand on our Conrad etching press. Students will leave with a finished print and etched plate. This experimental technique yields a wide variety of organic and abstract marks and is perfect for beginners and experienced printmakers alike.
